“Kristina Fran Duvemala” Act 2, SAT Oct 21, 12pm SLT

It’s a classic: the villain raises the knife, the woman cries … and there we are right at the commercial break. No singing fat lady can represent the end of an opera more precisely than the threat to life does for commercial breaks. For some 5 minutes we’re lost in the middle of nowhere, fighting with our anger, fear and emotions, until the story is picked up again, or we found comfort otherwise in a tasty chocolate bar, a freezing cold beer or a car insurance.  That’s what happened to…

Freshly Escaped from «HeAdLiGhTs»

You’ve seen and done everything in SL? Really? Every bigger city in RL has it, the «Escape Rooms». Second Life has them as well, on the sim of „Headlights“, a sim, which is said to be dedicated to openness and tolerance, with a slightly wanted touch of female dominance. The sim’s stunning scenery derives from the beautiful buildings and places of high quality, tastefully and harmoniously assembled, adding to what we all are looking for in SL: originality. The senery is dominated by the castle, which stretches into the sky…

Open Mic Poetry Slam, Sep 30, 1pm SLT @ Raven’s Serenity Cove

Why don’t you dare something new in Second Life? – We all are much too much bound to our habits sometimes. And we risk to miss new, exciting and inspiring experiences therefore. Luckily, in SL it costs next to nothing to break with well-worn paths and open up for new and variegated facets of life. RAVEN CEDARBRIDGE – OPEN MIC SATURDAY 1pm – 2pm slt Facilitated by -Sabre (Sabreman Carter) Where: Raven’s Serenity Cove Date & Time: September 30, 1pm – 2pm slt Poetry ~ “OPEN THEME” ATTIRE ~ come as…

Fascination Music Theatre – JM Visions Push the Boundaries of Second Life, ACT 1, Sep 30 12pm SLT

When Applause Just Isn’t Enough One should be careful with superlatives in Second Life, but the staging of the musical «Kristina Fran Duvemala» is by far … by far … the best I have ever seen in Second Life. And it is not just the scenery or the animations. This is an all in total perfect production in a quality which I personally never have thought was possible in SL. At the beginning the visitors sit in an old barn, wondering whether this can be the right place for a…

«Hell on Wheels» A Karaoke Place with “Fahrvergnügen”, AUG 29, 10am

L ong time ago I used to drive to university with my HONDA African Twin. A 30km ride with some smooth serpentines on the way. While at this time it was just a way to get to the university, it now in my memory turned into a romantic road trip. When I checked out the «Hello on Wheels» place because of the upcoming karaoke event, I couldn’t resist to rez a motorbike and drive down to the valley. It instantly gave me the good old feeling again. «Hell on Wheels»…

National History Museum

The summer slump brought me to the National History Museum which is exhibiting two themes currently. The first one is on dinosaurs, the other on steampunk sculptures. The exhibits are spread over 2 floors and the design concept ist to combine real life pictures of vitrines and chambers of the real life National History Museum, with in-world 3D models of the said themes. Art & Science are usually no major attractions in Second Life, and I am therefore glad that they still find their place and lovers. They enrich the…

Grand Opening of «The Perfect Harmony Art Gallery»

I recently enjoy visiting art related sims a lot. Sculptures, pictures and drawings exhibited in Second Life bear a strange touch in my opinion, but in a very positive way. It’s a double twist showing surrealistic worlds in pictures inside a virtual world, or sculptures in a virtual 3D world. It is difficult to explain, but for me it turns the ‘all is possible’ feeling into an ‘absolutely no boundaries’ feeling. Watching the objects I enter in a intended dialogue with the artist in an undefined state of being. Of…

A Blaze of Lights: «Light Thoughts 3»

Leave the trodden paths in SL and have a look at «Light Thoughts 3». No matter whether you love arts in SL, are a spiritual or non-spiritual person, feel to be in the mood for it or not, you will leave «Light Thoughts 3» with changed feelings. You don’t need much time there, but the stunning light effects, the surreal scenes will definitely do something with you, worth to experience. Calas Heavenly Wedding

I’ve been to quite some weddings in Second Life in the last three years, and I know how much effort especially brides put into the setup of the location. I alway wondered whether this is the right approach, since a wedding day should be one of the best days of your life. Wouldn’t it be much better therefore, if a bride or a groom would only have to concentrate on themselves on and for that day? I am not even sure – are there professional wedding planners around in SL…
